Two saxophones, an ocean of emotion.
A professional saxophone duo for cruise lines and onboard events. Jazz, lounge, pop and Latin rhythms that elevate every moment of the voyage.
Musical elegance that travels with you.
Sax Machine is the duo of Jonathan Gatica and Felipe Vidal, two saxophonists who blend experience and stage energy. Jonathan brings a broad career as a musician, bandleader and cultural manager across jazz festivals, big band, orchestras, ensembles and candombe; Felipe brings 24+ years of experience and currently performs aboard Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Norwegian cruises.
Together they offer a versatile, elegant proposal: from the soft jazz of a sunset cocktail to the energy of a dance floor, they adapt their sound to every space and moment. A professional, punctual and reliable musical service for cruise lines, entertainment agencies, private events and all kinds of celebrations.

The people behind Sax Machine.
Two paths that meet on stage: the jazz scene and years of experience at sea.

Jonathan Gatica
Saxophonist, composer, bandleader and cultural manager. He trained at the Enrique Soro Municipal Music School in Quilicura and the Liceo Experimental Artístico, and was part of the Conchalí Big Band —under maestro Carmelo Bustos— with which he made his first international tours. After five years in Buenos Aires' jazz scene and jam sessions, where he formed Cuarteto Perseguidor, he returned to Chile to conduct, compose and teach: he created the Retrasaxos ensemble and runs the Quilicura International Jazz Festival and the Jazz a la Pobla Festival. His debut album, "Waiki," blends jazz with Mapuche culture. He has shared stages and projects with artists such as Joe Vasconcellos, Ernesto Holman and Carl Hammond, composes music for theater and teaches at Instituto Profesional Projazz.

Felipe Vidal
Professional saxophonist and educator with over 24 years of experience. He began his studies with his father —a former clarinetist of the University of Chile—, continued with professor Carmelo Bustos and earned a scholarship to Instituto Pro Jazz. A tenor player at heart and multi-instrumentalist (alto, soprano, clarinet and flute), he has moved through jazz, reggae, funk, salsa and merengue with national and international bands —Papa Negro, La Cubanacan, Los Rumberos, Caña Brava, Los Adolescentes— across Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Australia. For years he has performed in the orchestras of Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Norwegian cruise lines, backing shows and international artists, and he teaches saxophone at Instituto Pro Jazz.
